BARTOLI PLAYS CASELLA ON ARGENTINA’S NATIONAL RADIO

Friday, August 17th, at 9PM local time, Argentina’s national radio (Radio Clásica Nacional) will broadcast Sandro Ivo Bartoli’s  recording of Alfredo Casella’s Undici Pezzi Infantili from 1920. The broadcast features within the frame of a cycle titled ‘Neoclassicism’. Bartoli, who recently played the Casella Eleven Children’s Pieces at a charity event for the UNESCO International Protocol  for Children’s Rights, said he is delighted by the broadcast. “I recorded them all these years ago, I think it was 1996 or 1997, and have been fond of them ever since. The pieces are wonderful pedagogic material, but work very well on the concert platform as well. I remember playing them in Madrid, along with Berio’s Piano Sonata and Malipiero’s Poemi Asolani, the night before the dreadful terrorist attack at the Atocha station. I hope the public will like them, and that other pianists will include them in their repertoire”. The broadcast will be audible on live streaming at http://www.radionacional.com.ar/vivo/2-clasica-967.html
